I am quite genuinely appalled at the events of the last week. Our former Minister's mental breakdown or whatever foolishness caused his highly inappropriate behaviour was enough a disgrace to the country, but now Hogwarts has been damaged and closed. How are children to learn when their educations are being interrupted? I do try as best I can to remain calm in these sorts of situations but as an employee at the Ministry of Magic and a governor on the school's Board of Governors, I cannot stand by idly and not address it at all.

Those who were at Hogwarts without license ought to be arrested and sent to Azkaban. They have destroyed children's' school year, their faith in the safety of Hogwarts and surely they have now seen things that shatter their innocence. Those who allowed this to happen and those who are the cause of this ought to be ashamed. I, for one, am disappointed in myself that I did not demand more effective and impenetrable security measures be used on the school before this happened. I will certainly be doing so now, but I am afraid the damage may have already been done.

WARDED TO DOMINIC GAMP AND SEVERUS SNAPE.
Please give me a brief description of your duels. How do each of you believe you could have improved? What did you do wrong? This will determine our training for the upcoming weeks, so I do implore you be thoughtful about it.

There has certainly been a great deal of chatter about the bill regarding children but I think we have neglected to properly express outrage over the fact the DMLE may now use Unforgivable force. Well, certainly not the entire DMLE. Allowing people like the MacDonalds to use them would be too much ever for the fools who decided the Aurors ought to be allowed to use them. This all sets a rather dangerous precedent, as far as I am concerned. How are we to expect Aurors to protect our country when they have adopted measures as extreme as those they have condemned?

Imagine how differently the ordeal with Mr Savage might have gone had the Aurors been permitted to use Unforgivable Curses at the time they discovered him. In the future, we may find there is no need for trials for the accused if the DMLE has a legitimate right to take matters into their own hands. I find it all rather unsettling.

WARDED TO DOMINIC GAMP.
And if there are no trials, we may be out of jobs, old fart.

I am terribly sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I thought it best you hear it from me if the DMLE or your husband's family has not already informed you. Vultus and Domina Gamp have been murdered. The Dark Lord had reason to believe they had been betraying us again. Please extend my condolences to your husband. If there is anything Narcissa or I can do for the two of you, please do not hesitate to ask.

In the future, I would appreciate if you would address any problems you have with Narcissa or Aurelia was discussed with me instead of them. Your disrespect is uncalled for and there was certainly no need to call my wife a bitch. If a polite request is not enough for you, please allow me to word it a different way -- if you ever do anything like this again, you will have far more problems than Gideon Prewett or anyone trying to convince you to look like a proper woman. I do hope I have made myself clear as this is not something I wish to have to repeat.

As it is nearly halfway through the month, I hope you have all given some thought to your assignments. In case you have forgotten, you must use the Imperius Curse on some one -- it does not matter who -- to demonstrate that you are able to perform it. Should you need any additional assistance, I suppose that is what I am here for. I, myself, have already completed the assignment successfully and I would prefer you to keep me abreast of your plans to do so as well.

It seems Muggle-born week is off to an early start, but as Purist week has just ended, it would be proper of me to thank everyone who had any part in organising the week's festivities. And, of course, thank you to all who attended the events throughout the week and the ball last night. It was an honour to have so many of you in our home and I do hope you all enjoyed yourselves, not only thanks to the punch (very clever, whoever decided to add a spot of vodka to the recipe), but thanks to the company as well. I also hope that each person who attended took away something new or learned something over the course of the week.

And as disappointed as I was to see one of my favourite childhood traditions altered so drastically, a trip to the theatre always does wonders for one's mood. And, of course, now that Purist week has come to a close, best of luck to those organising and participating in Muggle-born week.

What a smashing way to begin the week! Thank you to all who were able to attend the play this evening and especially to those who performed. I do hope everyone enjoyed themselves and I do think it all went remarkably well. Narcissa and I will be hosting tours at our home tomorrow and I certainly hope to see many of you there.

December 2nd, at 11:10pm]
I am very pleased to announce the upcoming week is Purist Week, as authorised by the Ministry of Magic. I have been eager to announce the events as well as the mission of having a week devoted to the sharing of purist culture, but I have been holding off until certain the Ministry supported the endeavour. Over the course of the next week, beginning on Monday, we will have several events open to the public. A number purist families will be opening their homes throughout the week for public tours. Narcissa and I will be among those participating in this event and I do hope to see many of you at our home while tours are being given.

To begin the week in an exciting fashion, there will be a production of "The Life and Times of Salazar Slytherin" on Monday, featuring several of our own in various roles. Additionally, the week will include a lecture on the benefits of magical bloodlines and their preservation at the Magical Library in Diagon Alley, after which we will hold a question and answer session for anyone in attendance. The National Museum of Wizarding History has also been kind enough to allow us to showcase several of our family trees, family heirlooms and other information on purism and our culture in an exhibit that will be open to the public throughout the week.

The museum will also host an exhibit on the Famous Witches and Wizard cards mid-week, where chocolate frogs will be handed out to any children in attendance. The Magical Library will also be hosting a seminar on family trees, at which time anyone is free to join us there, where we will be assisting anyone who wishes to learn more about their own family histories. The events of the week will end with a formal ball hosted by myself and Narcissa at our home. Tickets for the ball will be handed out during the weeks' festivities, so I certainly hope to see you all in attendance and taking advantage of the hard work our Society members have put into making this week reflect our culture and heritage.

We hope by sharing our history, homes and culture with others, we will be able to remove the stigma against purism and purists and eliminate the idea that purists possess violent hatred for non-Pure-bloods. I have said it numerous times, but it bears repeating when our national culture is as tense as it has been in the last few months -- purists are not Death Eaters, nor do all purists support Death Eaters. We are simply good and normal witches and wizards who wish to contribute to our society and preserve our own way of life for our families and future generations in what ways we can.

Narcissa and I have been discussing the idea of a purist week. We'd like it to happen as soon as possible and I plan to speak to the Minister when he has an opportunity. But even if he decides against it, we'd prefer to continue with it as an unofficial event than disregard the idea completely. The purpose would be to make purism accessible to those who have always thought about Pure-bloods and purist culture as something too elite to aspire to. We will appear, if we are successful in our endeavour, as benevolent leaders of Society. It will further separate us from the negative impression some have gained to show that we are attempting to better society by sharing our own heritage and customs with them, at least for the week.

Among the events we have discussed so far is an afternoon tea for the public. I am unsure where such a thing would be held, though perhaps there is a place in the Ministry that could be allocated for such a purpose should the Minister support the idea. We have also discussed the idea of opening our house to visitors for tours. Naturally, we will be taking precautions against any sort of vandalism, but Narcissa and I think a tour of our grounds and home would be an excellent way to show we have nothing to hide and that we strive only to strengthen our magical community. If any of you wished to do the same, there could certainly be tours of multiple homes throughout the week. Additionally, for those of us who have family trees available, perhaps we could put them on display for all to see that we have come from generations of wizards who cherished the ideals and culture we still abide today.

Naturally, any other ideas are encouraged and if the ones Narcissa and I have talked about do not seem as though they would be effective, please do let us know. Ideally, aside from Ministry support, we would have a united and supportive front from all purists throughout the course of these activities. Without support, this will be ineffective and I do think our goals are both important and practical to reach.

Aside from all this, I have another project I would like your help with. Mackenzie MacDonald -- I feel she ought to be dealt with.

Personally, I hope the first thing our new Minister does is take care of the influx of owls the Ministry has seen since the resignation of former Minister Fancourt. Not only has it proven to be quite a health hazard, considering the lunch room had to be shut down today, but it is horribly distracting when one is attempting to do any work. For the Ministry to run smoothly, we must be able to do our jobs without the ghastly opposition of owls. For those of you sending the owls, perhaps you could collect your owls and send your complaints or comments at once, with the aid of a single owl. Certainly that would cut down some of the air traffic and when one remembers that complaints cannot be addressed and problems cannot be solved until the Ministry employees are working in conditions that promote productivity, it does not seem like such a great sacrifice.

And it appears I have fallen rather ill with this dreadful thing being spread around. I am sure I will not see the Ministry until early next week at the soonest. It is times like these I must remind myself I am fortunate to have such a capable and knowledgeable wife as she has been very helpful in seeing that I am well cared for until it is safe to re-emerge from our house.

WARDED TO THORFINN ROWLE AND SEVERUS SNAPE.
I am not truly ill, but until the owls have been sorted, I would rather not attend work unless absolutely necessary. Should either of you require anything of me, I will be more than capable and willing to assist you. And naturally, our plans remain unchanged.

Darling, I have a splendid idea and I can think of no one more capable to put it to action. For years, the Ministry has allowed hags a week to celebrate, or more accurately, to terrorise the country. Though the goals of such a thing seem to have been lost, something similar might be useful to adopt for Pure-bloods. It seems there are many misconceptions in regards to purism and our beliefs and lifestyles, so I thought we might have a week of events, such as an afternoon tea or a tour of the manor, to show our good will to those who are so far too ignorant to realise as much on their own.

So, a week of appreciation for purist culture. Of course, we will have to be diplomatic about it and I suppose we cannot prevent Mud-bloods from participating, but perhaps that is a good way to negate any suspicions regarding our feelings toward the Death Eaters. A bit of favourable press and public relations could certainly do nothing to hurt us. And perhaps, once people see how rich our way of life is, they will think twice before deigning to turn their noses up at those of us born with the right to do so. And naturally, any purist family willing to participate would be allowed to do so and though they might be understandably reluctant, I am certain our example would provide ample encouragement to partake in the festivities.

While many have asserted their dislike for those who acknowledge the difference between one blood status and another, I must say it is not a matter of personal feeling toward a person -- there are many witches and wizards with blood far less magnificent than my own and I could not possibly know or be acquainted with all of them. It would be a disservice to Mud-bloods to say they are simply the same because they are witches and wizards. Yes, they are people. Yes, they are magical. But they are certainly not the equals of those who have grown up with wizarding customs and magic surrounding them. What a Mud-blood will never understand is the joy of magical Christmases with one's parents or learning about dragons from magical children's books and for that, I feel sorry for them. I may not know Muggle customs but I do not belong to the Muggle world nor is it something with which I would ever attempt to familiarise myself. I can only imagine the difficulty Mud-bloods face in trying to assimilate with those who have grown up knowing their places.

And though they may eventually close the gap in terms of knowledge, they lack the experience of a proper witch or wizard. They lack the centuries of culture and heritage which binds magical families together, particularly those of Pure-blood lineage. I do not think Mud-bloods are inherently dreadful or filthy people, though some certainly are. But I do think it is absurd to say Mud-bloods and Pure-bloods are no different from one another. The difference between the two is unimaginably vast and it is a disservice both to Mud-blood and Pure-blood wizards to pretend it does not exist. I say we ought to allow each to celebrate their unique culture without being told we ought not acknowledge the difference and consequently cheapen that which makes each witch and wizard precisely who they are.

Gentleman, should anything happen to me today or at any point in the future, I feel it is best to request you both, as well as your wives (or wife and soon-to-be wife) be sure Narcissa is well looked after. I would trust almost no one else with the task, aside from certain members of her own family and my sister. And, of course, I would be sure Narcissa and I did the same for either of your families if anything unthinkable were to happen.

On the other hand, if tonight is a success, I would like you both to share a drink with me at the manor. I will not keep you terribly late but should a celebration be in order, I would rather not let Ministry hours prevent me from doing so.

I think we have all done enough training to be prepared to put our skills into practise. When Nott returns, I would like to be able to report as much to him. In order for me to do so, I will require something from both of you. Select a target -- anyone you dislike on principle, because of their Mud-blood sympathies or because they are an extreme annoyance. I do not particularly care why you select them, but you must each select one. Then, we will find a way to inconvenience them and see how seriously you have been taking our training. I have high expectations for both of you. I trust you will not disappoint me or the Dark Lord.

I suggest anyone considering any rather extreme measures of protection on Halloween or during Hag Week devote a great deal of thought to the consequences of such a thing. I am obviously not permitted to discuss my work -- confidentiality is such a bore -- but I will say, I would advise against anyone housing dangerous or illegal creatures with the intent of using them to guard one's dwellings. Or, I suppose, for any other reason not sanctioned by the Ministry. I am afraid rules are rules and it is surely not worth being sued or sent to Azkaban all for a bit of added protection.

As for the hags, I certainly respect the Ministry's decision to allow such festivities but I have found myself contemplating what I would do were I a father during this time of year, which will surely happen sooner or later. I dare say I would forbid my child from going anywhere on his or her own until the hags had returned to wherever it is they reside when they are not harassing Ministry employees with the misfortune of resembling children in spite of their ages. Surely Pure-blood children would be far more appetising to a hag, so I suppose Narcissa and I will have to be particularly mindful, as all parents should, when the time comes.

If there ever comes a day I attempt to bully some one significantly my junior in an unprofessional manner, I hope it is not only my job called into question but my integrity as well.

WARDED TO THACKERY NOTT, THORFINN ROWLE AND SEVERUS SNAPE.
Messrs Rowle and Snape, I would like to know which of the aforementioned places of business you intend to investigate. As Mr Nott said, we must do so in an inconspicuous manner, so I do suggest selecting places where you will not seem amiss in the company of their regular patrons. If I must, I will delegate the assignments as necessary or as Mr Nott to do so himself. For obvious reasons, I would rather see you both show initiative in this project without continual prodding from myself or Mr Nott. Additionally, I would like to know your schedules for the upcoming week as I now have more to consider when scheduling training sessions and as I am a kind and thoughtful person, I would prefer to do so at your conveniences as well as mine.

Mr Snape, if you are not otherwise occupied, I request you join me in visiting the House of Stylings by Clippes & Cutt. I am certainly no stranger there and I believe it would be a good opportunity to show you how, with a good stylist and a spot of product, you can be as dashing as the next young man. You can trust me, you will be in good hands, as I would certainly never place my locks in those of the under-qualified.

Narcissa informed me you had offered her some advice in regards to our recent decision to begin building our family. I am heartened to hear it, particularly as I feel it also begins a process of repairing what has been lost between you and your sister. It is also surprising to have the ability to say you have played a large part in our aforementioned decision. Why, if it was not your loyalty and concern over your own daughter, I do not think I would be encouraged to plan for a loyal and respectful relationship between myself and my future children. With any luck, you will one day be a part of that relationship. For myself and my wife and future children, I would like to see nothing more.
